Exam results came out on the 16th of this month and I surprised myself in getting 3 A’s in Physics, Maths and Computing. Not too shabby. Bath wanted me to get AAB to get in, so I am in!

Everybody loves Open Source software (OSS), and why shouldn’t they? Its free, right? I’m sure the developers of OSS are initally reveling in the ‘popularity’ that surrounds you when you release something really useful and free into a sea of people hunting for just such a product, but where do they go then?

We all sign up to sites on the internet that require a username and password to get to the juicy stuff inside, but what really grinds my gears is when these websites send out your username and passwords, in clear text, to your email address. (more…)

When creating API classes for your software, there are going to be some variables that you don’t really want, or need, to pass on to users extending from your class. There are 3, I suppose you could call them access modifiers, that you can use to restrict or determine where the property (variable) or method (function) can be accessed throughout the script and in children classes.
